I went with my sister today out to this local iris farm called Argyle Acres. Of course, most all the irises (except mine here at the house!!) are in bloom right now and just BEAUTIFUL! They have a lot that they've cut blooms and placed in vases on tables for you to get up close and personal with! LOL My sister's birthday was in January but, knowing she'd be coming home to Texas in April, I told her I'd give her her birthday present then. Well then is NOW and I told her she had a dollar amount that I'd pick up the tab on. So we BOTH went NUTS and bought iris galore. We only picked out one the same so the good thing is as they grow and multiply, we can SHARE! YAY, how great is THAT?!!

Well, we made it to 8 of the 10 shops on the shop hop yesterday, collecting our little notions and quilt pattern parts along the way. Above are 3 of the shops' renditions of the quilt and they're ALL lovely. There was another that was indigo and cheddar and a couple of pink and browns! Also one using the Farmhouse Blues line which was beautiful. I'm SO glad we got most of it done yesterday as today is VERY RAINY and would NOT have been good driving weather. Thankfully, the two shops I have left are close to home and I might even wait til tomorrow since the rain's SUPPOSED to let up. We'll see...

Well, even though it's not quilt-related, I had to post photos of my lovely tables set for our monthly ladies' salad supper last night. Our Sunday School class gets together at someone's house once a month and we bring either a salad or dessert (or whatever else we choose to make!) and DIG IN!! The food is ALWAYS fabulous and last night was no exception!! And tomorrow is the first day of the North Texas Spring Fling shop hop!! I LOVE the shop hops and this time around the theme is "We've got a notion"..each shop (all TEN of em) will be giving away a small notion in addition to one block pattern at each shop for the Spring Fling quilt!! AND afterwards, each shop will have drawings for their shop's door prize (last year I won TWO!!) plus a drawing for two machines, a Babylock and a Bernina! YAY!!

Once again, it's been FAR TOO LONG since the previous post. I just couldn't come up with anything 'interesting' to post about since I hadn't really finished anything. But as I was cleaning and putting away the other day, I found two quilts in the 'stack' that had been quilted and only needed the binding. This was one of the two and I couldn't even begin to guesstimate when I finished this quilt. But it's still cute and NOW has the binding finished! YAY!! I have several quilts in a pile waiting to have the binding machine-stitched on and/or waiting for the binding to be hand-sewn down. I'll be posting pix of those shortly (I HOPE!! lol).
