I've been working on the circles here and there, prepping a few whenever I find an interesting fabric and then stacking them up in groups of 10 as they've been stitched.  It's really amazing how a project can grow when it's not in your face every day, day after day!!  HA  But I thought I'd lay them out to get a feel of where I'm at and looks like I'm almost half way there.  YAY!

AND I have 7 of the 8 QOV tops finished (the 8th is well on it's way!!) and 5 of 7 backs done.  I'm going to work on the two backs today and then will concentrate on the 8th top and back to get that project to completion.   That will be fulfilling to get those done and presented.

Punch blocks done

I've got them laid out the way I think I want them so need to gather them up by rows before the cat runs in and messes them all up!  LOL  I woke up with such a headache and took an Alleve a couple of hours ago but it's still with me.  Bending over to lay the blocks out made it start pounding again so I got down on my knees, which is never fun.

I got the last border sewed on this one and measured it in order to make the back.  This puppy's bigger than my usual QOV's--it's 76X90.  So next up will be sewing Punch together and making a couple more backs.  Moving right along.....

Well, HUH!

I was delivering my Meals on Wheels today and after I'd delivered the last meal, I headed down the road and caught a glimpse of this--

I did a HUGE double take and very quickly turned the car around to make sure I wasn't seeing things!  This was in a residential neighborhood with no open country around.  Where the heck did he come from?  And exactly who was he strutting his stuff for?  Just too funny!

The last week

I've been busy but haven't stopped to lay stuff out to take pictures.  I'm down to the last 3 Tropical Punch blocks before putting them all together--woohoo!  Will take a picture when that's done.  And I've cut part of the border for yet another QOV quilt and have one more that's currently waiting borders.  And continuing on with circles.

I was out in the yard together getting a few things done.  My house numbers above the garage were so grungy that they really weren't readable from the street.  So I'd gone to Wal Mart the other day and got some spray paint for them AND for my metal patio table and chairs (they're going to be red!). Took the numbers down and spray painted them and will put them back up after Meals on Wheels tomorrow.

My owl has been MIA for quite some time now but he showed up again about 4 days ago.  I noticed a couple of squirrels running all around the tree and the owl seemed somewhat annoyed!  He'd also been badgered by a blue jay and a pair of little Carolina wrens so I needed to get a picture of him.

He always keeps his eye on me when I'm photographing him!  HA

And this was one of the stupid squirrels annoying the owl.  He stopped and basically posed.  I can't stand squirrels..they're just rats with fluffy tails who constantly dig holes in my yard and potted plants!

Another beautiful sunset this evening.  Next post will definitely contain quilt content!!

More punch

Tropical punch that is!!  Still working on these blocks as well as the circles (ran out of cut circles AND background so had to get busy there!!).

I THINK these blocks are 10" (haven't measured) and the gal who I got this idea from made her QOV 5X6.  I think I'll make mine 6X7 with a border or two to make it a bit bigger!  I believe the original pattern had sashing so may have to take a look at that possibility as well.  (note to self--6x7=42!)

Tropical Punch blocks

I really like making these blocks--super easy to go together and just need 2 1/2" strips.  A little  more contrast here than previous.
