Our Dear Jane group (part of us anyway) gathered yesterday for a fun day of
chatting and stitching. Then we had planned to stay a little longer and work
on our other projects. Patty (who does NOT do DJ!) joined us in order to work
on the flannel rag quilt that her daughter WAS to have received last year before heading off for college. She'll definitely get it this year!! Of COURSE we had to have lunch which we ordered from Palio's pizza. MAN, their Hawaiian Sunrise pizza is to die for with pineapple, canadian bacon, cranberries and cashews. I know, sounds weird but trust me....to DIE for!! Then there's Sheri, showing off her BEAUTIFUL Judy Niemeyer quilt. WOW!! A fun, fun day.

WHOA! I've been on a binding MISSION! I absolutely DESPISE doing the machine part of attaching a binding to a quilt and, therefore, let them stack up! Well, I figured since I had the walking foot on, I'd do them ALL as well as do a baby rag quilt. There are 6 pictured that have the binding on and four more upstairs waiting. I am NOT taking the walking foot OFF til the deed is DONE! There are two or three Home of the Brave quilts in the stack as well as another that's going off to QOV. Only two will stay here with me. I don't mind the handwork part of putting bindings on..a good project for the evening while watching the boobtube. Once the walking foot is removed, I MUST finish my ugly fabric challenge so that I can get it to the longarmers. I really LIKE my ugly fabric this time around so it's not so much of a chore to work it! HA

After taking my son up to OKC, I returned to a houseful of company including a 3 and 4 yr. old! They were FULL of energy and needing lots of activities to help burn off some of that energy. They've gone back to San Diego now and the house has been quiet. But Mr. Fang has been VERY busy on the puter and just wore himself out!! HAHA This is him taking a much needed rest (on TOP of the puter so that no one else could use it!) after much surfing the net, looking for catnip toys and kitty treats!

Well, my 'little boy' leaves on Wed. for the FAA Academy
in Okla. City to begin air traffic control training. He'll work
in a center like the one pictured, not in a tower like most
folks are familiar with. He'll be in training through the
middle of Nov. and then back here for about two more years
of training at his facility. His dad (DH) did the same thing
for 32 years so he pretty much knows what it's all about.
I'm excited, anxious AND sad as this is my last to leave.
I'll believe he'll do well and, if so, will have a good career and comfortable life. (But I'm
still SAD, WAAAHAA!!)

We took a short trip in the trailer and I had to share a couple of my
'wildlife' shots. We were in Palo Duro Canyon near Amarillo and saw
several wild turkeys. I had to chase the one a little in order to get
a picture. Then in Durango, CO, there were several hummingbird
feeders out with LOTS of hummingbirds taking advantage. I got
a few good photos but liked this one coming in for a landing! Took
some hand stitching along on the trip but got NONE of it done! Oh
